Retail Maps & Info Uncovered

battlefield3online.com Forum Adminitrator, Morgan, has uncovered a nice workaround in the new Battlelog website which uncovers some images of the full retail version of the maps!

Note: Battlefield 3 is currently in Beta status, the data files represent the Beta version of the game and do not represent the retail version. The lists replicated here are likely subject to change and do not represent the full version of Battlefield 3.

Unlocks And Rewards

In this weeks Battleblog Breakdown, we will sum up what EA/DICE has planned for Battlefield 3's ranking and reward system! The Battlefield community has always been loyal and thrive to be the best at what they do, clearly shown by the number of players still playing Battlefield 2 since its release in 2005. BF3 will feature more than 10 times the unlocks over weapons, attachments, gadgets, and vehicles in the game compared to Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Players will be rewarded with various ribbons, medals, and service stars to showcase their skill, dedication, and teamwork. The design philosophy for the Battlefield 3 unlocks is to give you more for doing what you love. If you use a certain gun consistently, you will be given specific upgrades for that gun. The same goes for playing with certain kits or vehicles. And to make things even better, you will gain XP that will go towards your overall rank which unlocks new weapons, specializations and camouflages!

As mentioned before in the previous Battleblog overview, Battlefield 3's "Play Your Way" mentality is what makes everything so awesome. You, as a soldier, can detail your kit to exactly how you want to play. The four classes (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon) are ready to play as is. However, with a little personal tweaking you can make something ordinary, extraordinary. As you may know by now, the assault class is capable of equipping both a medkit and defibrillator. But that wont stop you from using a high powered grenade launcher to take out your enemies in style.

Tactical unlocks will help mesh to your personal style of playing. Using a heavy barrel for your assault rifle can help increase single shot accuracy, but are you willing to sacrifice weapon recoil? You can modify your weapons to be equipped for long range or close quarters combat. Jets will be able to use either Anti-Air Missiles or Maverick ATG Missiles to take out tanks, Engineers can equip anti tank or anti air rockets. Customization is a huge factor which makes gameplay in Battlefield 3 both suprising and fun.
